Kartsport SA Hits Mt Gambier!!!

Kartsport SA hits Mt Gambier on Saturday 30th November & Sunday 1st December 2019!

The Mt Gambier Go Kart Club plays host to the first Kartsport SA meeting outside of the Barossa and our very first 2 day race meeting.

More details about this race meeting will be available very soon but we wanted to officially confirm the dates and provide some general info so that everyone can start planning their trip down to ‘The Mount’.

Saturday November 30th
Practice 10am -1:30pm.
2pm onwards – Race 1 for all classes (8 laps).
BBQ Saturday night.

Sunday December 1st
8:30am onwards – Races 2/3/4 (8 laps) / Race 5 (10 laps) with a finish time that allows people to get back home Sunday evening/night.

Free camping at the track on Friday and Saturday nights. We are running practice from 10am to 1.30pm so people can leave early Saturday morning and still get some track time prior to first races kicking off.

Got a KZ2 or DD2? Great news! Our newly added senior shifter class will be on offer. This class will only be offered at Mt Gambier as their track meets the required minimum length so don’t miss your chance to bring out those cog swapper karts!

There will be give aways and two random tyre draws. One set of Maxxis Sports for kids and one set for seniors.

Mt Gambier is a great track and a great club run by some of the nicest and hardworking people in karting. Kartsport SA exists purely to put bums back in seats affordably and to put some money back into clubs, which is more important now than ever. So, get behind this event because it’s gunna be awesome! 😎

Introducing The Split! One track. Two ways.

Anti-clockwise? Clockwise?
Anti-clockwise? Clockwise?
Anti-clockwise? Clockwise?

Bueno los dos? 😮

That’s right folks! Why not both directions? 😁

Our October race meeting will see us run ‘The Split’ for the first time. We’ll be running 3×10 lap races in the standard anti-clockwise direction then switch the track to the clockwise (reverse) direction for the remaining 2×10 lap races.

We will be holding our usual pactice session prior to racing and that will be run in the standard anti-clockwise direction.

Same deal as always, $50 covers your entry fee, day license and insurance, practice and 50 racing laps. One year on and we’re still the best value in karting 😎

This is our last race meeting at Barossa for 2019 (but not our last meeting for 2019 😉) so be sure to get out there, have some fun and help keep the gates open and the lights on at the small but mighty Barossa Go Kart Club.

August 31st Is Another Kartsport SA Success!

Another fantastic race meeting run and won! 58 entries and some unbelievably close, clean and hard fought racing. Definitely some of the best racing we have seen in our very short existence. It was great to see familiar faces back again, many for the sixth consecutive time, alongside some new faces. Some of those new faces are also familiar ones, ones of those returning to racing after many years out of the sport. All in all, from all the smiling faces, we know everyone had a great race meeting.

Kartsport SA has now run 6 race meetings at the Barossa Go Kart Club. With 374 entries received so far we are averaging 62.3 entries. An incredible number that surpasses anything we had imagined when we set out to get Kartsport up and running. Between hire fees and canteen profits Barossa Go Kart Clubs bottom line is now $5000+ better off and there track is being used more regularly running Kartsport SA race meetings.

A big thank you must go out to all the officials and volunteers once again. Without their dedication we wouldn’t be able to hold these race meetings. Their belief in Kartsport SA is greatly appreciated! Each and every one of them should be proud that they are allowing so many people to get back on track and back enjoying the sport they love.

The Barossa Go Kart Club turned it on once again. A beautifully presented track as always. The committee at Barossa do an excellent job each and every time we run there and we at Kartsport SA are honoured to be able to hold events on such a great track. We look forward to many more meetings in the future.

As we announced at drivers briefing, we will be holding another race meeting at Barossa in October and, all going well, we will be holding a November race meeting at the equally beautiful Mt Gambier Go Kart Club. That will be one race meeting you won’t want to miss!!! The Mt Gambier track is a bloody great track to race at and with many kart clubs just over the border we may see some of our Victorian counterparts make the trip over as well.

Stayed tuned right here on and on our Facebook page for more information soon.

‘Senior Open’ Gets You On Track!

Just a quick reminder that our ‘Senior Open’ class is a true open class which means numerous combinations of tyres and engines can be run. All tyres readily available from MG, Dunlop, Bridgestone, Vega and Maxxis range can be used with any combination of 100cc, 125cc, twins and 4 stroke engines.

Our open class allows you the flexibility to get out on track with whatever engine you may have with whatever tyres you can get your hands on.
